Description
The Atlantic forest is considered to be one of the 25 most endangered ecosystems on the planet. Currently, its length represents only 7 of the original forest cover. Even so, the biodiversity of this biome is amazing: it is the home for more than 500 species of frogs. The “Interactive guide of Anurans of the Atlantic forest” translates all its diversity. Produced in partnership with the Atlantic Forest Biosphere Reserve (RBMA), the CD contains information about 70 species of frogs and toads found in this ecosystem. Each is identified according toits family, defense strategy, activity, abundance, habits, size, habitat and distribution among Brazilian States. This guide on CD-ROM will complement the information in the book “Amphibians of the Atlantic forest” with a simple and affordable navigation through interactivity. Both the book and interactive guide are part of the Atlantic Forest Fauna Collection, which also comprises the book “Stream Fish of the Atlantic Forest”. Directed to: biologists, students, teachers, anyone interested in the Atlantic Forest region and amphibians, environmentalists.
