The IPBio has a team of biologists, interns and employees developing research activities and environmental education.

Ana Glaucia Martins

Manager

Biologist, post graduate in Management and Conservation of Wildlife. Since 2007 works as a researcher and with the environmental education projects. Responsible for coordinating the activities in the Reserve and establish partnerships with other institutions.

Henrique Domingos

Biologist

Since 2009 works as a researcher and projects of environmental education in Betary Reserve. In 2014 he published his first book, the ebook “Birds of the Atlantic Forest. Responsible for OBBIO- Biodiversity Observatory and has been working on capturing and cataloging of images in Reserve Betary.

Imran Viroomal

Volunteer Coordinator
 

Studied Economics and Politics at McGill University in Canada. Responsible for coordinating the volunteer program and their daily activities. Additionally, he seeks methods to finance projects and manages international communications.

Grant Johnson

Bioluminescent Mushroom Program Coordinator

 

Gained a degree as a bachelor of science at The Evergreen State College in the United States and has worked as a Forest Inventory Technician for the Washington State Department of Natural Resources. Grant volunteered in 2017 for 6 months in the bioluminescent mushroom program and was integral in the discovery of 7 new species of glowing fungi on the reserve. In 2018, Grant returned to coordinate the bioluminescent mushroom program.

Janina Franck

Support in coordinating the Volunteer Program

Germany and Irish decent and graduated with a MSc in Multimedia from Dublin City University. Janina volunteered in 2018 at IPBio, supporting in the creation of promotion materials such as videos and logos and since has decided to return to continue her work in media as well as support in the coordination of the volunteer program.

Luciane da Rosa

Research Assistant

Biologist, responsible for the vivarium. Also assists in field activities and visitor attendance.

Vitor hugo

Volunteer Coordinator

Responsible for coordinating the volunteering program at IPBio – Reserva Betary, he works in the organization of activities carried out by volunteers during their stay in the volunteer program. It also works on meteor monitoring projects in partnership with BRAMON.

Rafael Nunes

Gardener

Responsible for all the maintenance work of trails and gardens, besides taking care of the vegetable garden and plant propagation.

Fernando Rios

General Services Assistant

Responsible for cleaning and organization
